Inaugural Grey Matter Gala Raises Over $60,000
to fund Groundbreaking Brain Cancer Research

We were thrilled to welcome more than 200 guests came together for the Daniela Dwyer Foundation’s inaugural Grey Matter Gala, creating an unforgettable evening filled with purpose, generosity and community spirit.

Thanks to the extraordinary support of attendees, sponsors, donors and volunteers, the event raised an incredible $60,233. These funds will go directly to Professor Sudha Rao’s research team at QIMR Berghofer, supporting their vital work in advancing brain cancer research.

The success of the Grey Matter Gala was made possible by the dedicated individuals who brought the night to life. Special thanks go to our hardworking committee — Lauren Scoble, Amanda Speed, and Michael Devenish — as well as our wonderful volunteers on the night: Lily Fardella, Sarah Lange, Zoe Adams and Paige May. We were also privileged to have Sam Jolly as our Master of Ceremonies and Mia Brankov as our auctioneer.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity shown by our entire community. Your support helps us continue this important work and honour Daniela’s legacy.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our valued event partners, whose contributions are essential in making the Grey Matter Gala possible.
